Soul Purpose

Very good extract :

Commentary by Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan:

One may ask, 'What is the best way for a person to understand his life's purpose?'

If one follows the bent of one's own mind, if one follows the track to which one is attracted, if one follows one's own inclination, which is not satisfied with anything else, one feels,

'There is something waiting for me (which one does not know at the time), which will bring me satisfaction.'

Besides, if one is intuitive and mystical, it is easier still, because then one is continually told what is the purpose of one's life. For nature has such a perfection of wisdom.

One sees that the insects are given the sense to make their little houses and to protect themselves and make a store of their food. The bees, who have the gift of making honey, are taught how to make honey.

So nature has taught every soul to seek its purpose.
It has made every soul for that purpose, and it is continually calling that soul to see that purpose.
If the soul does not hear the call and sleeps, it is not the fault of nature, which is continually calling.
Therefore, if I were to say in a few words, how to find one's purpose, I would say: by waking from sleep.

hmm, so far so good,
this extract brings already a direction,
it points to the first step
that most people do not realise
by even looking at how one could
like creation is taught by nature
be taught as well

this is by the way
what "ummi" means
when refering to the prophet

it does not mean illiterate
which is a wordly word, meaning too narrow
it means that it is not taught by books
but by the divine inspiration
as the bee is taught by divine inspiration
how to built its hive.

so call is always there

it all depends if we WAKE up to it or not.

this is the part where no one tells how to wake up.

except for lately,
when i have been told,

that when you close eyes
you see things which comes from your "dead" mind
what you see are residues of your day/life
which keeps circling in you.

hence, "dead"
hence it is said that sleep is the sister of death/small death

now,
there are TRUE dreams,
in the sense that
in our TRUE self we NEVER sleep

hence the ayah ul kursi :
The Evidence of the Throne (translated) :

2.255: Allah is He besides Whom there is no god, the Ever living, the Self-subsisting by Whom all subsist; slumber does not overtake Him nor sleep; whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is His; who is he that can intercede with Him but by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they cannot comprehend anything out of His knowledge except what He pleases, His knowledge extends over the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of them both tires Him not, and He is the Most High, the Great.

a True Self
never sleep
no slumber , no tiredness nor sleep

this is our true permanent Self which is also called Archetype by Allah
near the Throne of Allah, the Kursi (though i have to double check the word kursi and Throne)
but grossly speaking this is the idea

when we are IN IT
then we are never tired
nor do we sleep
and we have nothing to do anylonger with this world

hence when the prophet said,
i never sleep, my heart is always awake
The one that has reached enlightenement,
meaning experiencing this True Self of his
is never asleep

and the dreams exist no more
he has no more dreams.

Though, i know that true dreams and visions exist,
as the prophet used to have them
so ... ?

may be the world is not dream but Life experienced be it in an outer state of "sleep" of the body or not.
so the true dreams
are when the Ever-present Light of God is been showered
and we LET it pierce and enter into us
and let it go deep down in our subconsciousness

so that nothing in a way is given
but only revealed

like when you lit up a dark room
light does not bring with it a new room with accessoires
but they were already there
except that one could not see till light came

yet, another questions come,
what is this "transformative energy" then?
so it means that light DOES transform our room by bringing new accessoires?
